I arrived in London around 11 am on Monday and saying I was exhausted would be an understatement. We had an overnight flight and I didn’t sleep or eat at all. Then we had to drag our luggages (mine was broken and weighed 59 lbs) from Gatwick all the way to our dorm/apartment in London, not fun.
It was our first day of class and we started out with a quick orientation, then headed off to get some lunch at Pret a Manger. We went to a gallery and then we went on the London eye, which was absolutely stunning. I’m slightly afraid of heights but I was too excited to care at that point. We then finished off the class day by photographing in a graffiti tunnel. It was kind of cold so I wore my mom jeans from Urban Outfitters with my denim jacket from Topshop. My black bodysuit is from Forever 21 and of course I’m wearing my adidas because I’m not about to walk around all day in uncomfortable shoes.
This is the view we had from the top of the eye, the pictures don’t even do it justice.
After “class” we had the best chicken burgers ever at a restaurant called the Green Room, which conveniently was about a 4 minute walk from where we were staying. Then we decided to go explore and try to find cute picture spots and of course, the famous red telephone booth. We ended up going to Green park near the Buckingham Palace (which we still haven’t found) but the area was so cute and there were flowers everywhere!!
Our first activity of the day was visiting the Saatchi gallery which has probably been one of my favorite galleries so far. It was located in a really cute area called Sloane Street with lots of cute shops (including a Brandy Melville!!). Since our study abroad program is for photography, we spent our time at the gallery taking photos.
We went to a few more galleries after that, but after class we went to the most amazing coffee shop that I found on instagram months ago and have been dying to visit. It’s called Peggy Porschen and I have never loved a place more. Since I knew we would be going to a cute coffee shop that night, I wore my pastel colored plaid skirt from Urban Outfitters and went with my simple black top from Zara. I wore my platform shoes for the coffee shop because I didn’t have to walk too far.
If you’re ever in London I highly recommend at least checking this place out, super cute and delicious!
We started off the morning with a nice walk from our dorm to St Paul’s Cathedral. It was so beautiful but unfortunately I couldn’t take pictures inside. We climbed 528 steps to get to the top and even though it was worth it, never again. From the top you could see the entire city from all sides. I wore my plaid dress from Urban because it’s super soft and comfy and I hate walking around all day feeling gross.
(Shout out to this rude man walking straight through my photo)
We didn’t take that many pictures this day because after climbing those steps we were exhausted and went home and spent the night napping like losers.
We didn’t take any pictures at all because we were too busy doing a lot of damage to our bank accounts in Soho. We went back to Sloane street for a little but left after deciding we were too broke for those shops.
We woke up early in hopes to see the Queen’s birthday parade. Unfortunately that didn’t work out so we went to breakfast instead and photo wandered. I ordered French Toast and we all got mimosas! YUM.
After our breakfast we went back to Sloane Street to take pictures by these adorable pastel apartments. They cover the whole block and are even prettier in person! We got some (real) gelato to hold in our pictures as props (ya we’re extra) but it tasted too good so we ate it before we had the chance
(This was actually not a fake candid I swear.)
After our shopping spree I wanted to wear my new clothes, so I wore my new overall dress from a store called New Look. My bodysuit that I’m wearing underneath is from Brandy Melville (yes I bought it here and yes I know it’s an American brand but I’m obsessed okay). My hat is from River Island. My purse is new as well, I bought it from a little boutique area behind our place from a store called Vendula London. The purses are sold online and can be shipped all over! I bought something else from here so stay tuned for a London haul!
